Painted in Vienna in 1907–08, at the height of Gustav Klimt’s Golden Period, The Kiss wraps two lovers in a cloak of gold and ornament. It is one of the most loved images in European art.
Made with the glass fusion technique: sheets of coloured Murano glass are cut by hand, composed piece by piece and fused in the kiln into a single panel, then fitted with its clock movement. Original Murano glass, made entirely by hand in Italy by master glassmakers: no two clocks are ever the same. A work of art that keeps time.
