Venice under a restless sky. The Rialto Bridge, the oldest bridge across the Grand Canal, spans the scene in white and pale grey, its arches filled with soft blue. Behind it the houses glow in ochre and orange, and above them the sky rolls in deep blue and sea green. On the water a gondolier in a red-striped shirt steers a black gondola past the mooring poles.
Every colour is its own piece of glass. Made with the glass fusion technique: sheets of coloured Murano glass are cut by hand, composed piece by piece and fused in the kiln into a single panel, then fitted with its clock movement. Small glass tiles mark the hours. The outlines are drawn by hand and the smallest details are added grain by grain, so they stay raised on the surface.
Original Murano glass, made entirely by hand in Italy by master glassmakers: no two clocks are ever the same. A work of art that keeps time.
