&Tradition Tung JA3 side table

Compact in size but highly expressive, the &Tradition Tung JA3 side table brings a vivid, almost artistic energy to interior settings that value individuality as much as balance. Created by John Astbury, this piece belongs to the world of low tables and is designed for indoor use, where its glossy finish and sculptural profile can introduce rhythm beside a sofa, lounge chair, or bed. Rather than blending quietly into the background, it acts as a deliberate design gesture, ideal for anyone looking for a colorful designer side table or a distinctive modern side table with strong visual identity.

Lacquered volume and polished simplicity

The &Tradition Tung side table is made of solid MDF, carefully milled and then lacquered to achieve a striking high-gloss surface. This process enhances the purity of its rounded geometry and gives the piece a smooth, reflective quality that changes subtly with the light throughout the day. The result is a table that feels crisp, contemporary, and memorable, with the clean impact of a high gloss accent table and the versatility of a modern MDF side table. While the construction is intentionally pared back, the reference to wood remains part of its material character, translated here into a lacquered form that celebrates shape and finish above ornament.

Colour-led design for curated rooms

Offered in blue and red, the table lends itself to interiors that need a controlled burst of colour without sacrificing refinement. It works beautifully as a contemporary living room table in neutral spaces that benefit from a chromatic focal point, yet it can also slip into more layered schemes where saturated tones are already part of the design language. Its compact proportions and assertive finish make it especially effective as a Scandinavian low table interpreted through a more playful lens. In spaces informed by Jaime Hayon x &Tradition, it feels particularly at ease, while its clear silhouette can also introduce a lively counterpoint among the softer expressions of &Tradition accessories and lighting.

A small table with unmistakable personality

More object than accessory, this design stands out for the confidence of its form and the immediacy of its colour. For interior designers and private buyers seeking minimalist Nordic furniture with a more expressive edge, or a compact luxury accent table that can transform a corner with very little effort, it offers a fresh and polished solution. Whether chosen as an iconic Tung table by &Tradition, a characterful John Astbury side table, or a vibrant blue Tung table, JA3 brings a sense of playful discipline to the room. Distinctive, glossy, and sharply defined, it is a piece that leaves a lasting impression without ever feeling excessive.
