The Soap Rest reduces a daily gesture to its essential mechanics: support, drainage, and exposure. Formed from a continuous wire structure, it lifts the soap cleanly from the surface, allowing air and water to pass through unobstructed. There is no tray, no enclosure: only structure.
Its geometry is open and exact, prioritizing function while remaining visually light. The negative space does as much work as the metal itself, preventing accumulation and encouraging dryness without intervention. The rest is neither hidden nor ornamental; it is meant to be seen, understood, and used repeatedly.
Placed at a sink, the object introduces a sense of order without softness or embellishment. It treats a utilitarian need with clarity rather than comfort, asserting that good design is not about refinement alone, but about removing friction from use.
