Serralunga Uovo di Colombo planter

Just like the legend of the egg of Columbus, the Serralunga Uovo di Colombo planter embodies an idea that is at once simple and revolutionary. Designed by Carlo Colombo, its sculptural form takes the perfect geometry of an egg and turns it into an architectural vase. Admired as an iconic illuminated design pot, it conveys both fragility and strength, a symbol of rebirth and balance, ideal for contemporary gardens and interiors where collectors and architects seek impactful design.

Material innovation behind pure form

Though its curves suggest delicacy, the planter is crafted in robust polyethylene. Resistant to UV rays, impacts, and extreme temperatures, it is designed to last outdoors in all seasons. The material is 100% recyclable and solution-dyed for enduring colour intensity, ensuring that white, anthracite, and terracotta shades remain vivid. Its durability makes it an excellent choice to pair with Pedrali outdoor furniture in terraces, gardens, or hospitality projects.

Essential yet expressive

With its compact dimensions and egg-inspired silhouette, Uovo di Colombo can serve as a discreet accent or as a focal point. Alone, it emphasizes its sculptural presence; grouped, it creates a rhythmic installation that echoes natural harmony. Its organic geometry makes it versatile, fitting seamlessly into private terraces, design-driven hospitality spaces, or interiors where Ibride design furniture contributes to curated, artistic compositions.

Design in dialogue

Belonging to the Vases family, this planter naturally converses with other icons of contemporary design. It pairs gracefully with the imaginative lines of Gufram interior decorations, integrates with Serralunga lighting catalogue and Serralunga’s decorations, and complements the balanced elegance of Serralunga modern furniture. These affinities underline its role as a bridge between form, function, and environment.
