Magis The Wild Bunch Tuffy height-adjustable swivel chair with beech frame and polypropylene backrest

Konstantin Grcic gives Tuffy a distinctive technical identity by combining solid beech with reinforced polypropylene and an adjustable swivel mechanism. The Magis Tuffy chair with solid beech seat and legs, polypropylene backrest, joint and screw reinforced with glass fibre is conceived for indoor use and adjusts from 42 to 61 cm, allowing the seating position to respond to different desks and working preferences. Its rotating function introduces practical freedom of movement, while the timber structure preserves a warm, tactile presence. Within Konstantin Grcic x Magis and Magis The Wild Bunch, Tuffy reflects a pragmatic approach in which construction and adjustment become visible parts of the design rather than elements to conceal.

Adjustable seating within Magis Chairs & Small Armchairs

Positioned within Magis Chairs & Small Armchairs, Tuffy combines the compact proportions of a wooden chair with the adaptability expected from contemporary work seating. The adjustable range from 42 to 61 cm allows users to fine-tune seat height according to different working surfaces, while the swivel function supports movement without requiring the entire chair to be repositioned. Its solid beech seat and legs create a stable visual foundation, contrasted by the polypropylene backrest and technical components. As a height-adjustable swivel chair, Tuffy suits home offices, studios and meeting areas where furniture needs to remain flexible while maintaining a warmer, less technical appearance than conventional task seating.

A flexible partner for Magis Tables & Low Tables

Tuffy coordinates naturally with Magis Tables & Low Tables, particularly in interiors where seating and working heights may vary between desks, shared surfaces and informal meeting areas. Its adjustment mechanism makes the chair responsive to different configurations, while the compact structure helps preserve circulation in smaller workspaces. Available in Natural Beech 7011/White 1735C, Natural Beech 7011/Black 1754C, Black Beech 7140/Black 1754C, Natural Beech 7011/Orange 1780C, Natural Beech 7011/Red 1782C and Natural Beech 7011/Green 1783C, Tuffy can shift from restrained combinations to more expressive colour accents. This wooden adjustable chair therefore integrates easily into both residential and professional schemes.

Visible mechanics through the Magis design language

Magis brings together natural material and functional engineering in Tuffy, using reinforced polypropylene for the backrest, joint and screw while retaining solid beech for the seat and legs. The contrast gives the chair a clear visual structure, with every component contributing to its practical character. The swivel action and 42–61 cm seat-height adjustment make it suitable for changing working positions, while the backrest provides a defined supportive element within the compact silhouette. Whether specified as an adjustable task chair for a home office, a wooden swivel chair for a studio or flexible seating for a meeting environment, Tuffy offers architects, interior designers and design-conscious clients a refined balance of movement, natural warmth and clearly expressed mechanical functionality.
