The Magis Proust multicolour armchair in rotational-moulded polyethylene for outdoor use transforms a highly decorative silhouette into a vivid contemporary statement for residential, hospitality and contract environments. Magis combines weatherproof material performance with an expressive multicolour finish, allowing the chair to move confidently between interiors, terraces and gardens. The continuous polyethylene construction preserves the sculptural volume of the seat while supporting open-air use, making this multicolour outdoor armchair both a functional lounge piece and a strong visual focal point. Its generous proportions and richly patterned appearance suit projects where furniture is expected to contribute personality, colour and unmistakable decorative presence.
Alessandro Mendini and an unmistakable decorative language
Alessandro Mendini gives Proust its theatrical identity by bringing an ornate historical silhouette into dialogue with contemporary production and expressive colour. In this multicolour version, pattern and contrast become essential parts of the chair’s personality, emphasising curves, volumes and decorative details across the entire surface. Rotational moulding gives the structure a unified form, while polyethylene provides the durability required for everyday indoor and outdoor settings. As a sculptural outdoor lounge chair, Proust works naturally as a standalone statement in a garden, hotel terrace or living space, creating a deliberately expressive alternative to more restrained contemporary seating.
Expressive lounge seating within Magis Armchairs & Lounge
Positioned within Magis Armchairs & Lounge, the multicolour Proust combines generous lounge proportions with a weatherproof construction suited to both residential and professional environments. Its decorative surface gives the chair a collectible quality, while the moulded polyethylene body supports practical use in terraces, hospitality spaces and design-led homes. Unlike monochromatic seating, this colorful polyethylene armchair introduces several tones across a single sculptural form, allowing it to anchor neutral architectural settings or reinforce more eclectic schemes. The chair offers architects, interior designers and hoteliers a distinctive solution for projects where durability must coexist with strong visual identity and an intentionally unconventional aesthetic.
A contemporary icon beside Magis Tables & Low Tables
As part of Magis Masterpieces, Proust represents a meeting point between decorative history, industrial production and contemporary design culture. It coordinates naturally with Magis Tables & Low Tables, where a compact surface can support lounge compositions without competing with the chair’s elaborate profile. Indoors, it can become a dramatic accent in a living room or hospitality lounge; outdoors, its weatherproof construction allows the same visual language to extend onto terraces and landscaped settings. Whether specified as an outdoor accent chair, a sculptural lounge seat or a collectible design object, the multicolour Proust offers a sophisticated balance of expressive pattern, durable polyethylene and theatrical form for interiors and exterior spaces that favour personality over understatement.
