Seletti Jobby The Cat table lamp black

The first thing one notices about the Seletti Jobby The Cat table lamp black is that it doesn’t behave like a lamp at all. It behaves like a presence. Designed by Studio Job, the visionary duo of Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel, this rechargeable LED table lamp reproduces a cat at a true 1:1 scale, sculpted with an almost alarming realism. Made of thermoplastic resin, its matte black surface catches the light on the curves of the tail, ears, and fur, as if the animal were preparing to blink. The eyes, which become the lamp’s light source, give the object a surreal, narrative charm that no traditional table lamp could ever approach. It is wireless, USB rechargeable in about 3 hours, and capable of glowing for up to 30 hours with remarkable consistency. The Studio Job and Seletti collaboration once again pushes functional design into the realm of pop art, creating a lamp that invites both wonder and amusement every time it illuminates a room.

A sculptural lamp that mixes irony, emotional design and technical comfort

Part of the irreverence of Jobby The Cat lies in its unapologetic theatricality. Studio Job has always rejected the predictable, and here the designers insert humor directly into the user experience: the golden switch-dimmer placed between the hind legs, a detail intentionally provocative, becomes a playful interaction rather than a simple function. Behind this irony lies a surprising degree of practicality: the internal LED circuitry ensures efficient brightness without overheating, the resin body makes the lamp lightweight yet durable, and the USB charging port hidden beneath the tail blends seamlessly with the sculptural silhouette. As a modern home décor lamp, it works beautifully on bedside tables, shelves, office desks or even in retail displays where a touch of eccentricity enhances the ambiance. The black version adds sophistication and intensity, making it ideal for contemporary interiors, creative studios or eclectic living rooms.

More than illumination: a narrative object that transforms every corner

To buy Seletti Jobby The Cat is to bring into your space a design piece that operates on multiple emotional levels. Its light is soft yet directional, perfect for late-night reading or for atmosphere building. Its presence, however, is what truly elevates it: with its upright posture and piercing LED gaze, it becomes a guardian, a character, a conversation starter. As part of the broader Seletti’s Lighting collection, the lamp embodies the brand’s mission to challenge expectations through bold aesthetics and clever narrative design. Whether chosen as a functional wireless lamp, a statement sculpture or a collectible object for design enthusiasts, Jobby The Cat black transforms ordinary environments into theatrical stages. Seletti, as always, disrupts the familiar with wit, emotion and craftsmanship, offering pieces that do not simply furnish but reinterpret the very idea of living with design.
